Hey I’m Renn, the face behind Punk With Purpose!
I’m a pansexual, transgender, punk guy in Houston, Texas!
Currently a lot of what I’m altering is from thrift stores, so many items are one of a kind. But eventually I want to branch out more!
The name Punk With Purpose has several meanings behind it:
- I’m not punk just for the aesthetic; it’s the passion behind it! Being punk isn’t only about the music and fashion, it’s about standing up for what you believe in and being there for one another!
- Growing up queer and later realizing I was trans wasn’t always easy, and for a while I didn’t see much hope for my future. But one day I came to the conclusion: I have purpose being here! I’ve been able to help countless friends and strangers through difficult times, and now I get to share art that can help even more people! Being visible is more important than ever right now, and I want to do everything I can to save others from how I felt.
- My favorite band, Silent Planet, has a song called “Native Blood” which has the lyrics “this pain has a purpose.” That has always resonated with me so much so, I have it tattooed on my arm! The amount of strangers who have talked with me about it and said they needed to hear that made it even more meaningful!
I want everyone who buys from me to know they too have purpose and are loved, so every purchase comes with extra goodies and a handwritten note because sometimes you just need to be reminded!
